Note that when using AVIF, you should include fallbacks to formats with better browser support (i.e. It offers much better compression than PNG or JPEG with support for higher color depths, animated frames, transparency, etc. Good choice for both images and animated images due to high performance and royalty free image format. Supported: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera, Safari. Good choice for lossless animation sequences (GIF is less performant).ĪVIF and WebP have better performance but less broad browser support. Equipped with this knowledge, you should feel confident the next time you need to choose an image format. The image file formats that are most commonly used on the web are listed below. It may look like nonsense when you open it as a text document, but this allows seamless integration into HTML code.īest use: SVGs are ideal for vector-based graphics, including your logo, any icons, and infographics.Īs you can see, each file type has its own unique advantages. SVG files are made up of a code called XML, which translates the visual elements into text. While the JPG and PNG are blurred terribly, the SVG is perfectly crisp. Look at this example of taking 100px wide version of Digital Ink’s logo in various file types and then scaling it up to 500px. They allow for interactivity (think hover-over effects), and are infinitely scalable without ever losing their sharpness. GIFs use a more limited color palette than other photo formats, so you shouldn’t use this format for a static photo.īest use: GIFs are ideal for animated loops. Go ahead and hop on to explore random GIFS to your heart’s content. GIFs are capable of being animated, and support the amusing animated loops we’ve become accustomed to encountering daily. Whether you pronounce it “Jif” or “Gif,” a GIF is a file format you’re likely already familiar with. Too many PNG files will inevitably slow down your website’s load time, which will negatively affect SEO and cause impatient users to bounce.īest use: PNGs are ideal for smaller graphics and photos with transparent backgrounds. Similar to JPGs, PNGs are also compressed images, but they are considered “lossless” - meaning the compression doesn’t reduce the quality.įile sizes will be slightly larger, which is something to consider, but aren’t typically large enough to clog up your site when used in moderation. If you need to include a headshot, but don’t want the pesky white box background, PNG is the way to go. PNGs are not terribly different from JPGs, but have one very important distinction - they can be saved with transparent backgrounds. Save images as a JPG when they have many different colors and details and don’t need transparent backgrounds.īest use: JPGs are ideal for uploading photography or a digital presentation. However, the compression does reduce the quality of images, so there are some instances where a JPG might not cut it. These files are compressed, which allows for faster load times and smaller document sizes. JPGs are the gold standard when it comes to uploading photos to the web. As you know my mother, Grandma Matkin, was born with the name Clara Ackroyd. To give some perspective to this story let’s first find where Catherine Eller is on our family tree. However, I have through independent research been able to verify a sufficient amount of what is contained in the record to believe that the general assumptions contained in this story are sufficiently accurate that I do not think that any necessary corrections would significantly change the main conclusions that can be drawn from the record. It must be admitted that I have not yet had the opportunity to substantiate all of the facts from the genealogical record that is included in the Ancestral File and IGI which is the main source of the information and it must be admitted that this source is notoriously unreliable. Beyond the cold hard facts of the genealogical record the supposition and conjecture is drawn from the histories of others, church history generally and from. Let me say at the outset that there is no written story of the life of Catherine Eller (or her husband Michael) that I have found. This story will focus on Catherine Eller who married Michael Stoker. What year did they join and what was the circumstances of their conversion? I don’t yet have the answer to that question, but it is likely that our first Mormon ancestor would be Catherine Eller Stoker or her husband Michael or one of their children. Ĭatherine Eller Stoker (This was written by my dad, Philip Matkin)Īs I have researched our family history I have often wondered who our first ancestor was that joined the Church. The following information was found on the web and I cannot attest to the accuracy, but find it very interesting! Catherine Eller was my 7th great grandmother and she was the paternal grandmother of the Catherine Eller Stokker mentioned in the article below. 5/29/2023 0 Comments The south landscape tumbleweed gifThe design team is currently working on a line of outerwear with the topography of Frisco printed on the inside of the jackets and vests. One of their shirts has a yellow rose on it and the word “Texas” is hidden inside the flower petals. It’s easy to recognize one of Tumbleweed TexStyles’ products, because they often leave hidden messages in the designs, Wysong said. “Our shirts are everywhere and that’s something I’m really proud of,” he said. Finally, the shirt is folded and goes directly to the retail store or is shipped out for an online order.Īlthough the shirts are made in Frisco, Tumbleweed TexStyles ships its products to all 50 states and over 12 countries, Wysong said. Then, the shirt goes through a heating press to dry. They will burn a screen which goes through the printing press to be mass produced. From there, the team makes the design print ready.Next, the designers scan and digitize the design in Photoshop. After that, Jeb and Hillary each sketch the concepts separately then meet again to build on other designer’s ideas until they have the final design. Then, the designers will continue that conversation in a more creative session.First, the whole team meets for a brainstorming session. Here’s what their creative process for a designing a T-shirt looks like: When it’s time to create a new design, the Tumbleweed TexStyles team keeps this authenticity in mind, from the first sketch to the final product. “Because of Jeb’s incredible knowledge and understanding of Texas culture, whenever he creates our artwork the customer is getting a true taste of Texas,” Wysong said. |
